“Letting Culture in! Towards future-oriented heritage site revitalization. Transnational Experiences, Cooperative Approaches & Multiple Perspectives on the challenges of today’s urban development".
Cultural projects at vacant urban spaces can become an essential part of spatial urban transformation processes for new life, diversity and reflection on history. However, cultural operators, administrations and initiatives have to consider precarious effects like gentrification, festivalization and creative place making without social and historical conscience.
To be beware of these challenges, is the first step towards future-oriented cultural heritage revitalization. But how to find the equilibrium of economical, environmental, social, historical and cultural dimensions of revalorization projects with the sustainable city in mind?
The department for Culture and Leisure (KUF), City of Nuremberg, is partner in the Central European INTERREG project "Forget Heritage". "Letting Culture in!" is its final public conference. It will take place on 25th September 2019 from 9.00 until 15.00 with English-German; German-Gnglish simultan translation. The entrance is free. The target groups are citizens, initiatives, policy makers, public administration and professionals in social, architecutral and historical sciences.
