SZENE Salzburg has been a major factor in Salzburg’s cultural and public life for more than 50 years. The non-profit organisation is best known for its annual sommerszene festival, taking place in June/July and presenting international dance, (...) Mehr anzeigen theatre, performance, visual arts and music.
Furthermore the SZENE with its 600-seats theatre and its well-established coffee-shop is a cultural centre with more than 300.000 visitors and approximately 200 events per year. The full-year programmed venue brings music concerts, theatre and comedy shows, clubbings and parties as well as contemporary performing art projects into the city.

SZENE also supports artistic production processes. It offers artist residencies and provides a studio for creative development and rehearsals. On a European level this support is provided by the EU-subsidised artist network "advancing performing arts project (apap)" which was founded by SZENE (fb/apapnet.eu).
