Soft Entropy Vol. III feat. Wanja Slavin: Studio Session

Soft Entropy ist ein kollaboratives Musikprojekt von Paul Bießmann und Jonas Sorgenfrei zwischen improvisierter Elektronik, experimentellem Pop, Ambient und akustischer Synergie. Ausgangspunkt des Projekts ist die Begegnung mit wechselnden musikalischen Gästen, aus der eigenständige Konzertprogramme, Studio-Sessions und audiovisuelle Produktionen entstehen.
Im Zentrum steht die Suche nach einem gemeinsamen Klangraum des Moments: modulare Synthesizer, Live-Electronics und akustisches Schlagzeug verschmelzen mit improvisierter Interaktion, Samples, Stimmen und organischen Texturen. Die Musik bewegt sich zwischen hypnotischer Wiederholung, atmosphärischer Weite, clubartiger Energie und offenen improvisatorischen Momenten.
Soft Entropy versteht sich dabei nicht als klassische Bandformation, sondern als fortlaufende Serie kollaborativer Volumes – jedes mit eigener musikalischer Sprache, eigener Besetzung und eigener visueller Identität.
Neben Livekonzerten ist ein zentraler Bestandteil des Projekts die audiovisuelle Dokumentation jeder Session. Alle Volumes werden als Live- und Studio-Produktionen mit Audio- und Videomaterial festgehalten und sollen fortlaufend digital sowie analog veröffentlicht werden.
Diese Veranstaltung wird ermöglicht durch den Tonkünstlerverband Bayern aus Mitteln des Bayerischen Staatsministeriums für Wissenschaft und Kunst im Rahmen des Projekts "Tonkünstler live special".
Mit jedem Live-Konzert und neu produziertem Volume wächst Soft Entropy als offenes Netzwerk und Projekt kollaborativer Produktionen weiter – als Plattform für Künstler:innen, die elektronische Klangforschung, Improvisation und die gemeinsame Gestaltung des Moments miteinander verbinden.
Volume III — feat. Wanja Slavin
Für November 2026 ist mit dem Saxophonisten und Komponisten Wanja Slavin bereits Volume III geplant. Die Produktion wird mit zwei Konzerten in Nürnberg präsentiert. Wanja Slavin zählt seit Jahren zu den prägenden Stimmen der europäischen Jazz- und ...Mehr anzeigen Improvisationsszene. Der mehrfach ausgezeichnete Musiker arbeitet zwischen zeitgenössischem Jazz, freier Improvisation, elektronischer Musik und experimentellen Produktionsformen und entwickelte in eigenen Projekten, wie Lotus Eaters, Amok Amor und Libelle, oder als Produzent u.a. von Liun + The Scienc Fiction Band, Dexter Francis Mason, oder Marek Johnson eine eigenständige musikalische Sprache.
Mit Volume III wird Soft Entropy seine Idee musikalischer Begegnungen konsequent weiterführen und um eine weitere improvisatorische Perspektive erweitern.

Soft Entropy is a collaborative music project by Paul Bießmann and Jonas Sorgenfrei, situated somewhere between improvised electronics, experimental pop, ambient music and acoustic synergy. At the core of the project lies the encounter with changing musical guests, giving rise to distinct concert programs, studio sessions and audiovisual productions.
At the center of Soft Entropy is the search for a shared sonic space in the present moment: modular synthesizers, live electronics and acoustic drums merge with improvisational interaction, samples, voices and organic textures. The music moves between hypnotic repetition, atmospheric openness, club-like energy and open improvisational passages.
Rather than functioning as a traditional band, Soft Entropy unfolds as an ongoing series of collaborative volumes — each shaped by its own musical language, constellation and visual identity.
Alongside live performances, the audiovisual documentation of every session forms an essential part of the project. Each volume is captured through live and studio recordings in both audio and video form, with the intention of releasing the material continuously in digital and physical formats.
With every live performance and newly produced volume, Soft Entropy continues to evolve as an open network and platform for collaborative productions — bringing together artists exploring electronic sound research, improvisation and the collective shaping of the present moment.
Volume III — feat. Wanja Slavin
Volume III is already scheduled for November 2026 and will feature saxophonist and composer Wanja Slavin. The production will be presented through two concerts in Nuremberg. For years, Wanja Slavin has been regarded as one of the defining voices of the European jazz and improvisation scene. The award-winning musician works at the intersection of contemporary jazz, free improvisation, electronic music and experimental production practices. Through his own projects — including Lotus Eaters, Amok Amor and Libelle — as well as his work as a producer for artists such as Liun + The Science Fiction Band, Dexter Francis Mason and Marek Johnson, he has developed a distinct and unmistakable musical language.
With Volume III, Soft Entropy continues its exploration of musical encounters while opening the project toward yet another improvisational perspective.
