FRIENDS WITH BOATS is a transatlantic punk outfit fueled by old friendships, deep DIY ethos, and a shared obsession with 90’s punk rock, classic emo, and no-frills hardcore. Born from a New Year’s Eve reunion in 2022, the band quickly found its connection, writing and recording their first full length album within just a week. Despite the 5,000 physical miles between Hannover, Germany and Vancouver, Canada, that distance hasn’t dulled their spark.
Their debut Bumper Sticker Poetry is a raw and nostalgic punch of short, sharp and melodic songs about growing up, screwing up, and hanging on. The title track reflects on life’s unexpected turns with the kind of honesty that only longtime friends can pull off. "We all had different plans," the band says, "but somehow we ended up here, doing this. Shoutout to life for the best detour ever."
FRIENDS WITH BOATS hit the road in 2024 for their first U.S. tour, bringing their basement-bred energy to venues across the South, including closing out The Fest 22 in Gainesville, FL. With new songs - engineered and mixed by Tim Creviston (Comeback Kid, Spiritbox, Youth Fountain etc) set to drop in 2026 and soon to be announced dates for Germany and overseas, they’re not slowing down anytime soon.
For fans of Samiam, Face To Face, Descendents or Gameface, FRIENDS WITH BOATS is where grit meets grace. A heartfelt ode to friendship, community, and the kind of catharsis you only find with the people who know you best. In a world that moves too fast and in all different directions, this band is a reminder that some bonds (or some songs?) are built to last.

SHELLYCOAT spielen melodischen & gradlinigen Punkrock der vor allem beeinflusst ist vom amerikanischen Punk der frühen 90er Jahre. Aber auch die letzten 20 Jahre der Punk und Hardcore-Geschichte sind nicht spurlos an den vier Musikern und ihrer Sängerin vorbeigegangen, sodass moderner Sound mit eingängigen Melodien verbunden wird.
Was die ...Mehr anzeigen Band sympathisch macht, ist ihre bodenständige und unaffektierte Attitüde zu sich selbst und ihrer Musik.
Im bereits vierten Jahr nach ihrer Gründung erscheint jetzt das neue Album „Hours Left To Stay Awake“ als Digipack CD und auf Vinyl. In Zusammenarbeit mit Freunden verwirklichen Shellycoat alles, vom Clubkonzert bis zum selbst aufgenommenen Album und selbstgeschnittenen Video, in Eigenregie.
Für SHELLYCOAT ist Stillstand ein Fremdwort. Fast täglich wird sich um Auftritte gekümmert, werden Kontakte geknüpft und gepflegt und an neuen Songs gearbeitet. Die letzte beiden Eps der Band wurden durchweg von diversen Magazinen hoch gelobt.
Das neue Album macht die konsequente Weiterentwicklung der Band offensichtlich, stellt das Gefühl des in einer Band Seins in den Vordergrund und macht das auf und ab einer Band, die es ohne Freundschaft und Zusammenhalt nicht gäbe, zum Thema.Weniger anzeigen
