'Practically Married' are James Banner (double bass) and Declan Forde (piano). The duo has been active since 2015, serving as a core rhythm section for many groups, as well as an outlet for their own creative expression and experimentation. From 2015 to 2024, the duo curated an eponymous series at the Berlin Jazz club Donau115, inviting guests each month to perform with them and are very happy to be back for this concert in August. They have six self released recordings to date, and the album Ao vivo no Café Dias with drummer João Pereira was released on the Portuguese label Robalo in 2022.
They also perform and record with the award-winning Rachel Sermanni and have performed sold out shows at Konzerthaus Berlin and Leeds Jazz Festival.
In 2025, they released 'Live in Berlin' with Han Bennink and Toby Delius, and continue their series every two months at the venue Sowieso in Berlin.
