IDATHEYOUNG
are an alternative rock/electronica band based in Czech Republic.
Over the past few years, the band have evolved from intimate folk beginnings into a five-piece band that deliberately resists easy genre classification. Their music moves between alternative rock, folk and electronic textures, with each release exploring a different side of their sound. Their 2025 debut album Tell Me When You Pass The Sun (Korobushka
Records) earned them all three of the Czech Republic’s major music awards - the Anděl Award, the Apollo Award and the Vinyla Award, making Ida The Young one of the most
acclaimed emerging bands on the Czech music scene.
Announced with lead single Dragon Head, their upcoming full-length Seeing In Reverse (Day After Records,2026) captures the Czech five-piece pushing their sound into heavier, stranger
and more experimental territory. Rather than limiting themselves to what could later be reproduced on stage, they treated the studio as an instrument in its own right. The result
brings electronics and live instrumentation into constant dialogue.
They have played over 200 shows all over Europe, including some of the biggest festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad, such as Colours of Ostrava, Sharpe Festival, Rock for
People or MENT Ljubljana. The band is known for their eclectic, ever-changing live shows, often performing different versions of their songs depending on the venue and mood.

Die vier jungen Musiker hinter Prohibition Prohibition wandern mit ihrer Musik auf einem schmalen Grat zwischen bedrohlicher Scheinstille und Kontrollverlust - und setzen sich so auf ihre Weise mit dem etwas diffusen Begriff "Post-Punk" auseinander.
Drums und Bass bilden den Motor der Songs, die in einem kleinen Container am Rande der Stadt entstehen, und müssen sich dabei nur selten zwischen roher Gewalt und Komplexität entscheiden. Gitarrenklänge zwischen Sterilität und Unkenntlichkeit schweben darüber, ...Mehr anzeigen darunter und dazwischen. Literarische Fragmente, philosophische und historische Impressionen bilden die Grundlage für die Texte, die mal kühl erzählt, dann wieder als verzweifelte Hilferufe über alledem liegen. Ein geteiltes Verständnis für die Ästhetik des Lärms hält Publikum und Band zwischen Trance und Moshpits gefangen - ein angemessener Ausdruck für eine aus den Fugen
geratende Welt.

Prohibition is a brand new daring project from Munich already known for their mind blasting noise-machine-like live performances. Dealing with the fragile terminology of Post-Punk, the band dares to push the definition forward whilst holding on to the essential roots of the genre.
