EXUMER AND HIRAX TEAM UP FOR SUMMER SHOWS IN EUROPE AND UK
European thrash metal fans are in for a huge treat. This August, two thrash metal acts — Exumer and HIRAX — are teaming up for a hell of a summer run across Europe and the UK. The dates include prominent festivals, such as Wacken Open Air, Brutal Assault, Alcatraz, and Motocultor, as well as selected club shows.
HIRAX is an American thrash metal band from Southern California. Starting in 1984 under the leadership of vocalist Katon W. De Pena. In the early days, the band played in Los Angeles and San Francisco with several of their peers such as Metallica, Exodus, Megadeth and Slayer. The band was an early example of thrash metal, speed metal and crossover thrash, yet inspired by cross-genre influences including R&B soul vocalist, Sam Cooke, who De Pena once cited as "the greatest vocalist” he has ever heard. Currently the band is in Los Angeles, California, working on a new album expected to be released in time for 2024 tour dates.

The influential German thrash veterans EXUMER haven’t taken a typical career approach to being a band since they reformed in 2008. Still, Possessed by Fire (1986) and Rising from the Sea (1987) stand as highly­ heralded triumphs of the genre, particularly the former. Upon reemerging from hibernation, Exumer released their third full­-length worldwide on Metal Blade Records. Fire & Damnation was exceptionally well received, and the band performed a series of shows over the course of the following years. This summer, Exumer are bringing their might back to the stages, and, where Exumer goes, die hard thrash fans surely follow.
