Aralez Bio English
Based in Dresden, Aralez consists of three Germans and one Armenian. Since July 2012, they have
been creating a unique blend of heavy - doom and psychedelic-melodic metal with prog elements. Their mission was to transform
the songs created by the Armenian singer Margarita for acoustic guitar and vocals into a harder style.
The name Aralez comes from Armenian pagan mythology. Aralezes were flying god dogs. According
to the legend, an Armenian king was chained to a rock and tortured by crows every day. In the
evening, the Aralezes would appear and heal him by licking his wounds. Many of these mythological
images and episodes from Armenian history can be found in the band's songs.
Aralez has released three albums: Licking Wounds, Avelyats, and Songs of Funerals. Always ready to
explore new musical challenges, their music stands out with an Oriental touch and a couple of songs
in the Armenian language, adding a distinctive flair.
One of the highlights of the journey has been their performances in Armenia. Aralez played
unforgettable gigs in 2015, 2019, and 2024. The Armenian audience has been amazing and holds a
special place in the hearts of the band members. Their passion, energy, and love for the music make
every performance in Armenia an extraordinary experience.

Im Jahre 2012 kamen 4 Musiker aus verschiedenen Teilen Deutschlands und Armeniens zusammen.
Ihre Mission war es, die für Akustikgitarre und Gesang geschaffenen Lieder der armenisch
stämmigen Sängerin Margarita in ein härteres, düsteres Gewand zu packen. Der Name Aralez
entstammt ...Mehr anzeigen der armenischen Paganmythologie. Aralezes waren fliegende Götterhunde. Der Sage
zufolge war der armenische König an einen Felsen gekettet und wurde jeden Tag durch Krähen
gefoltert. Am Abend dann erschienen die Aralezes und heilten ihn, indem sie seine Wunden leckten.
Viele dieses mythologischen Bilder und Episoden aus der armenischen Geschichte finden sich in den
Liedern der Band.
Über die Jahre wechselten einige der Mitglieder bis zur heutigen, immer noch 4er Besetzung,
bestehend aus Gitarre, Bass, Schlagzeug, Keyboards und der tragenden Stimme von Margarita.
Der Stil von Aralez lässt sich wohl als Doom Metal bezeichnen, bricht jedoch ab und an in kurze
progressive und schnelle Bereiche aus. Bass, Keyboards und Schlagzeug bilden eine düstere Wand,
auf der Gitarre und Gesang entlang wandeln.
