WANG WEN 惘闻 sind fast auf den Tag genau nach 5 Jahren zurück in Jena. In ihrem Heimatland China spielt die Band zum Teil vor riesigen Zuschauermengen und in sehr großen Locations. Hierzulande gelten sie trotz ihrer Gründung 1999 und 10 Studioalben noch immer als Geheimtipp. Das für experimentelle Rockmusik bekannte Qualitätslabel Pelagic Records hat jedoch schon vor langer Zeit entdeckt, wie besonders diese Band ist und diverse Platten von WANG WEN 惘闻 in Europa veröffentlicht. Ihre Songs sind meistens instrumental gehalten, bestehen aus raffiniert konstruierten Klangerüsten, welche nicht selten Streicher, Bläser und elektronische Elemente enthalten. Die künstlerische Bandbreite dieser Band ist enorm und führt zu spannenden Kollaborationen. Unter anderem arbeitete die Band mit dem Künstler Jun Cen (New York Times, Vogue...) zusammen, der das Artwork für ihr wunderschönes Album "Invisible City" beisteuerte, welches im Sundlaugin Studio von Sigur Rós in Island aufgneommen wurde. Wer die Vinylversion mit dem Spezialcover dieses Albums schon mal in der Hand gehalten hat und dabei das Album auf sich hat wirken lassen, weiß warum gerade dieses Album und die Zusammenarbeit mit Jun Cen hier Erwähnung finden, absoluter Anspieltipp!

WANG WEN 惘闻 are back in Jena almost exactly to the day after 5 years. In their home country of China, the band sometimes plays in front of huge crowds and in very large venues. Here in Germany, despite being founded in 1999 and having released 10 studio albums, they are still considered an insider tip. However, the quality label Pelagic Records, known for experimental rock music, discovered a long time ago how special this band is and has released various records by WANG WEN 惘闻 in Europe. Their songs are mostly instrumental and consist of cleverly constructed sound structures that often contain strings, wind instruments and electronic elements. The artistic range of this band is enormous and leads to exciting collaborations. Among others, the band worked with artist Jun Cen (New York Times, Vogue...), who contributed the artwork for their beautiful album "Invisible City", which was recorded at Sigur Rós' Sundlaugin Studio in Iceland.
