CarlTeh wurde in Kingston / Jamaica geboren. Seine musikalische Laufbahn begann sehr früh. Bereits als 3jähriger war er Lead-Sänger im Kirchenchor. Carl sagt, er sei immer schon Musiker gewesen. Als Kind hat er auf der Straße Mundharmonika gespielt und getanzt. Eines Tages hat er dann in einem Lebensmittelladen Bob Marley gesehen, der Autogramme gab.
Ab da träumte Carl davon, genauso zu werden. Später in London arbeitete Carl als DJ. Er legte Platten auf und rappte dazu! Die siebziger Jahre verbrachte Carl in Berlin. Hier war er mit der Band Spice of Life ziemlich erfolgreich, in der auch Carl's Bruder Alfi, jetzt Mitglied bei Seeed, damals schon Percussion spielte.

CarlTeh, wie er sich und seine Band nennt, heißt eigentlich Carl Trowers und lebt seit 1987 in Münster. Die CarlTehBand besteht aus 10 Mitgliedern, die aus 10 verschiedenen Nationen stammen: Jamaika, Kuba, Brasilien, Bulgarien, Russland, Armenien, Uganda, Dänemark, England und Deutschland.

Mit seiner Musik, einer Mischung aus Pop, Reggae-Rock und Dancehall, sorgt er stets für eine super Stimmung. Songs wie „Jump Up“ oder „Raggamuffin“ animieren zum Partymachen.

Seine Texte haben aber auch tiefere Hintergründe. „Feeling So Nice“ z.B., ein absoluter Sommerhit, erzählt von einer Beziehung, in der Er Ihr alles gibt was Sie will, doch Sie wird trotzdem nie satt! Ganz kritische Texte in trotzdem tanzbaren Songs finden wir in „Big Youth“ oder „One People 1 Nation“.

ENGLISH:

CarlTeh (alias Carl Trowers) was born in Kingston / Jamaica. Already at the age of three he was a lead vocalist in the local church choir. Carl says that he has always been a musician. As a child he made his Debut playing the Harmonica on the street while dancing and singing. One day he saw Bob Marley at a Café giving out autograph. From then on it was Carl's dream to emulate Bob and become a top artist himself.

Carl left Jamaica as a child to live with his parents in London. There is where he started out as a DJ and rapper. Later after leaving London he moved to Berlin / German, where he was very successful with the band Spice of Life Incidently his brother Alfie Trowers now a member of the band Seeed was the band's percussionist.

CarlTeh is now living in Muenster / Germany and is busy working on his Band Project the CarlTehBand.
The CarlTehBand is currently made up of 10 members from 10 different Nations: Jamaica, Cuba, Brazil, Bulgaria, Denmark, Russia, Uganda, Germany, England and Armenia.

His style of music—a mixture of Pop, Reggae-rock and Dancehall is guaranteed to rock any crowd. Also his texts have a very deep meaning.
Songs like Jump Up or Raggamuffin, are definately footstomping music. Feeling so Nice is a guarenteed Summer Hit which tells the story of a relationship in which he gave her everything she desired but she could never be satisfied. Critical texts in danceable beats are also to be found in songs like Big youth or One people 1 Nation.
