There is nothing like a hangover after a night of guiness inhaling and the small matter of a 3 hour acoustic gig. My head, at last, starts getting back to a state of some sort of normality, recapturing images and thoughts from the evening gone by.
We finally kicked off our much awaited unplugged tour last night at Scruffy’s Irish Pub in Karlsruhe. Scruffy’s is a place close to all our hearts. It’s where we have played most often, so much so that we can even call it our second home. The owner Paul is a close pal and a top chap, a big shout goes out to the man. Everything about the pub just spells familiarity and comfort. From the crisp 7 pm sound check to the friendly folks behind and on the other side of the bar. Its not only a lovely place to play, even for a pint of fine irish beer and you somehow always end up having a good time and meeting some pretty interesting people. 2 of my closest buddies, I met there.
Now coming to the gig itself. We started playing earlier than usual, the pub was already packed around 9. Our 3 hour gig was divided into 3 sets and each set came with a different mood and feel. We began with some fast paced easy on the ear numbers, familiarizing ourselves with the audience at hand. The mood was then set, the bodies warmed up and fire on dawson was ready to get into its groove. The next few hours went by quite smoothly with some good music, some silly witty jokes which only I found funny :P and a pretty positive response in general. So we would like to thank the pub and everyone who was there last night. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. All in all, a satisfying start to the tour. Next Stop 5th March, Murphy’s Law Leonberg!
